I am NOT a boxing expert at all, but I enjoyed the fight last night. I watched it at a GAMETIME in South Miami with TVs everywhere and the atmosphere was phenomenal. In hindsight, the outcome was predictable, but I still had to watch the fight, despite the fight being way past my bedtime.
Both of the fighters made a LOT of money from the fight, I have not heard the final numbers yet, and this is not why it reminded me of estate planning. McGregor started out the fight great, and in my opinion won the early rounds. However, Mayweather had a PLAN and stuck to it. He knew McGregor would come up swinging, but would eventually tire out, and this is eventually what happened. Everyone has an ESTATE PLAN, and if you do not, then intestate statutes in your home state will govern how your assets are distributed and who would be in charge of your estate. Mayweather had a plan in place and followed it exactly as it was crafted. If you have a Revocable Trust, but do not fund it while you are alive, it defeats one of the goals of having a trust (to reduce probate costs). This is why you need to discuss your wishes with a qualified estate planning attorney. #411probate #EstatePlanningAttorney #EstatePlanningLawyer #FloridaLawyer #FloridaAttorney #EstatePlanning
